Management System Overview |
|
 |
|
Today's students represent great diversity in terms
of their expectations, goals, learning styles, and physical
locations. Schools must have the ability to respond
to these new demands of today's learning environment.
Students are beginning to expect new opportunities for
learning and collaboration outside of the physical classroom.
Jenzabar's Learning Management System (LMS) will help
you meet these demands by providing tools and strategies
to supplement or replace traditional in-classroom learning.
With Jenzabar's LMS, faculty and their students are
connected, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in a way that
the bricks and mortar environment cannot offer. Jenzabar's
LMS:
- Enables institutions to provide students with the
learning tools they expect.
- Enhances communication between students and faculty.
- Saves academic departments and instructors from
the costs and hassles of copying and printing thousands
of syllabi and other course materials.
- Automatically organizes all learning materials,
assignments and tasks for students and faculty.
- Provides your students with one web interface for
online registration, campus information, group activities
and online learning.
- Offers faculty the ability to share any type of
multimedia file with students.
Similar to our i3 strategy for Total Campus Management,
we pride ourselves on our LMS' three core strengths:
Intuitive - Ease of use is our focus. We want
it adopted by the majority not the technologically gifted
minority.
Integrated - It is just one of the many pieces
comprising Jenzabar's Internet Campus Solution (JICS).
All of which are built and sold by one company.
Interface - the Jenzabar Application Program
Interface (API) makes course creation and population
automatic, so faculty can focus on the pedagogy and
content. This vital piece is included with all installations
of our LMS.

Via the connection with an institution's student information
system (sis), Jenzabar's LMS will populate the respective
student and faculty JICS accounts with their courses,
schedules, descriptions, class lists and pre-populated
gradebooks. This 100% Web-based system provides 24x7
access to course documents, announcements, web links,
syllabi, threaded discussions, and real-time chat. Faculty
will have the ability to update grades, assign online
quizzes, track attendance, create and monitor course
groups, and much more from any computer with Internet
access.
These are just a few of the features included in Jenzabar's
LMS:
- Online Testing - with an integrated and automated
online Gradebook
- Attendance Tracking that can be downloaded to Excel

subgroups for project work or even combine courses
for easier management and instruction

course schedules, course descriptions, and enrolled
students via an application program interface (API).

an easy to manage area for quick retrieval and import
into current and future tests and quizzes.

web pages or write new HTML for a Syllabus
- Readings - listings display the course's required,
recommended and on reserve options
